Google Maps for iOS and Android OS is starting to display ads in a new way

application Google Maps for iOS and Android OS will start displaying ads in a new way in the searches made by users through the application, the Americans and Western Europeans being the ones who will have the most to "suffer" from this measure. Specifically, Google's ads will be displayed now in the form of an advertising banner that appears at the bottom of the screen and is appropriately marked by the company. A simple swipe next to that banner will open a list of information about the respective business, along with a link to its website.

Today we're introducing an updated ad experience we think is more attractive for users and more effective for advertisers. Relevant ads on the Google Maps app can now appear at the bottom of the screen after a user performs a search. They include a title, ad text, and a link to get directions. Users can tap or swipe upwards to see more information — this is a new click type known as "Get location details" and results in a standard CPC charge.

Fortunately, in Romania there aren't that many businesses willing to pay for the display of banners inside this application, so you shouldn't be too bothered by Google's new system.
