Google acquires WIMM Labs, enters the battle of smartwatches

Google, one of Apple's main competitors, recently confirmed the acquisition of WIMM Labs, a manufacturer of smartwatches that run on the basis of the operating system AndroidOS. Purchase made by Google dates back to 2012, since then the company has been developing a smartwatch, which for now is not known when it intends to bring it to the market. The company then acquired by Google developed a smartwatch that ran Android 2.1, had hardware as powerful as an iPhone 3GS, but that prototype was only intended to be offered to developers.

Based on the experience of a team of this kind, Google can develop a very interesting product that could amaze the market, but for now there are no details about it. Considering that we are talking about Google, the company can almost perfectly combine Android with such a device, or other electronic objects that can be worn by users, and in a time when devices of this kind are extremely popular, the company could win extremely much on the image side with products in this category.
