A few months ago I spoke to you for the first time about an interesting application of those from Orange named Libon. Having been using the application for some time, I thought I would share my experience of using it and tell you why it is, for me, a successful substitute for other social media applications of this kind. application Libon is available free of charge in App Store, works with the help of an Internet connection and allows you to be in contact with your friends, no matter where you are, and thanks to the new Orange offer, all Internet traffic made through Libon is offered free and unlimited within certain promotions.
Well, let's start with the simple things. Libon it works with an internet connection, no matter what it is, and allows you to send instant messages/pictures/video clips/voice messages, and if you're stuck in traffic and can't type or provide information about locations, you can quickly use the application to make it easier for you to go out with your friends, all for free. Moreover, the application will give you the opportunity to make calls in HD quality. Libon has a voice box that can be personalized with a message of your choice - for work, friends or lover, the interlocutor being greeted with this message when you cannot be contacted.
Activation and the main menu
Libon is activated with the help of a phone number, which is necessary to receive a registration code. After registering in your Libon account, the application will become accessible, you will be able to use all the functions available for free and your friends who already use Libon will receive a notification informing them that you are now using the application. You can also invite your friends to use Libon using SMS, e-mail or even platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. When you open the application, it is designed to show you the list of messages available in SmartChat, and if you press the green button located in the upper left part, you will have access to the main sections of the application:
- Latest it displays SmartChat and the most recent messages;
- Contacts directs you to contacts;
- Greetings will give you the opportunity to set the welcome message of the voice box;
- Call will give you the possibility to initiate a VoIP call;
- Write will give you the opportunity to quickly write a message;
- Account it will open the application's settings menu;
- Share will give you the opportunity to recommend the application on social networks;
- Help it gives you information about the internet connection, gives you tips for use, access to the questions and answers section plus a method to contact the Libon team.
SmartChat and smart calendar
To allow you to interact with your friends, the Libon application provides you SmartChat, an intelligent chat interface that displays all interactions with your friends on the same screen. The application displays each interaction separately for each day, and for each individual contact you will see in a separate window all the messages written, the files sent/received, as well as the calls initiated or received. All interactions of this kind can be done for free using an Internet connection, and the conversations will be stored for 30 days in the free version of the application.
Regarding the contact list, Libon displays everything in two lists, one in which you have all the contacts in your phonebook and one in which only the contacts who have activated Libon with their own phone number are listed. The interesting part of this contact book is that it can be quickly organized by tags or groups, thus eliminating the need to go through the entire contact list to get in touch with someone. Moreover, Libon automatically saves the entire list of contacts in the application so that, in case of a restore, you have them at hand.
Personalized voice mailbox and Visual Voice Mail
As I told you from the beginning, the Libon application will give you the opportunity to opt for personalized voice messages with funny accents in English/French or Spanish, or you can record ones dedicated to your loved ones. They are run when a person calls you and you are not available, the person having the possibility to leave you a voice message.
Moreover, when you cannot listen to the messages, for various reasons, you can choose to have them automatically transcribed by the application and sent by email, so that you can read them immediately to find out what your friends are sending you. The transcription is done only for the English/French/Spanish languages, and when you receive a voice message you will receive an email or a separate notification. Finally, I remind you that voice messages can be received by email and in .mp3 format, so you can save them wherever you want to listen to them in the future. Before ending the explanations regarding this section, I will tell you that in the free version of Libon, personalized voice messages can be set for 3 groups of contacts and the transcription is done for the first 15 seconds.
Considering that we are talking about a social media application, Libon has integrated compatibility with Facebook and Twitter, so you can share information about yourself or anything else inside the application on the two social networks.
At Orange Romania, Libon is included in the subscription Butterfly 12, the new subscriptions Kangaroo launched last week, as well as in the multimedia option available both for PrePay cards and for subscribers, and in the online configurator.
After all these details, I return to the title and tell you that I chose Libon because it represents a combination of functions that other applications do not offer. Libon has a community that grows day by day, the traffic inside the application is not metered by Orange, it gives me the opportunity to communicate with my friends in any way and all through an intuitive and attractive interface.
