In France, Apple is obliged to pay 12 million euros in taxes for iPad tablets sold last year

Investigated for several months by the French authorities, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is now obliged to pay 12 million euros to the organization the French company that represents the authors and makes sure that they receive money based on copyright. Company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was already obliged to pay 5 million euros to this organization, but recently a court in Paris decided that Apple should pay another 12 million euros. The first tranche of money represents the fees for iPad tablets sold in France in 2011, and today's decision is based on the sales of iPad tablets from March to December 2012.

Despite the two decisions given against the Apple company, those from Cupertino have not paid a single cent to the French organization and probably won't do it soon. We are talking about 17 million euros that Apple has to remove from its accounts, but the company seems to apply another tactic, recently increasing the prices of iPhone terminals sold in France. There is a possibility that the money resulting from this increase, which will also be applied to iPad tablets, will be used to pay these taxes, otherwise the company could be sanctioned by the courts.
