Apple allows developers to remove fake scores from Game Center

In the WWDC 2013 the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), presented the novelties that he was going to implement in iOS 7 regarding Game Center, and among them were some methods that gave developers control over what users publish in the system. More exactly, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), announces that it will allow developers to identify fake scores sent by applications to Game Center and to manipulate them, and yesterday the company announced official that the developers can delete the false scores registered through the applications.

You can now view and manage the top 100 scores and usernames for all of your Game Center leaderboards. Protect your legitimate players by signing in to iTunes Connect to delete fake scores or block players that post fake scores. You can also restore scores and players within the same time period. To learn more, read the Managing Game Center Leaderboard Activity section in the iTunes Connect Developer Guide.

Basically, Apple gives developers the opportunity to manage the first 100 scores and usernames registered in Game Center for their applications, all from iTunes Connect. Developers will be able to delete fake scores, block users who upload them and relist old scores and players. The move is meant to increase Game Center's credibility and give developers better control over what is published there, but it remains to be seen how many will abuse the new powers.
