In the next 6 months, Apple will reimplement some of the "lost" functions of iWork

Last week we told you that many Mac users started to complain about the fact that in the OS X versions of the applications Pages, Numbers si Keynote many extremely useful functions are missing. Various theories have been formulated based on their elimination by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, and during this evening those from Cupertino they stated that some of them will be reintroduced in future versions of the applications. The company explains that all applications have been rebuilt from scratch to offer the same experience on iOS 7, OS X Mavericks si iCloud, and for this reason some functions of the old versions are not available during the initial launch of the new applications.

The new iWork applications—Pages, Numbers, and Keynote—were released for Mac on October 22nd. These applications were rewritten from the ground up to be fully 64-bit and to support a unified file format between OS X and iOS 7 versions, as well as iWork for iCloud beta. These apps feature an all-new design with an intelligent format panel and many new features such as easy ways to share documents, Apple-designed styles for objects, interactive charts, new templates, and new animations in Keynote.

Despite this inconvenience, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), plans to reintroduce part of these functions in the future versions of the applications, all of which will be implemented in all 3 platforms. The company lists, as you can see below, the functions that it intends to implement in its applications during the next 6 months, and until then it recommends that dissatisfied users continue to use the old version of iWork for OS X.

In rewriting these applications, some features from iWork '09 were not available for the initial release. We plan to reintroduce some of these features in the next few releases and will continue to add brand new features on an ongoing basis. In the meantime, you can continue to use these features by accessing the previous versions of the iWork applications which remain installed on your Mac. The previous versions can be found in Applications > iWork '09.

I am sure that many people will still be dissatisfied with this explanation, but the reality is that no one can do anything but wait. All 6 iWork applications for OS X/iOS are available for free for iDevices/Macs activated after September 1/October 1, the rest of those interested having to purchase the applications from the App Store/Mac App Store.
