BioProtect – the first Cydia tweak that allows protecting applications using Touch ID (Video)

Biosafety is a tweak presented by me the other day when I told you that through it you can protect applications iOS 7 using touch ID. Practically, this tweak allows us to implement a method of securing applications using our fingerprint, so that no one will be able to access them if they do not have their fingerprint registered in iOS 7. The tweak has a settings menu in the Settings application, and through it we can customize the appearance of the animations displayed in iOS 7, the applications for which we want protection, the option to activate the vibrating motor when the fingerprint is not the correct one and that's about it.

Protect your apps with Touch ID! Add stylish protection to your applications and prevent opening them unless you authenticate using your fingerprint! No need to fear if someone sees your password while you type it! The most secure and yet fastest way to protect your applications, presented with a very cool UI. Touch ID needs less than a second to verify a correctly added fingerprint! The tweak listens to application launch events and blocks them if the application is listed as protected until you enter your Touch ID! It protects applications from launching from Notification Center, from App Slider (former App Swither), from lock screen and of course from tapping their icon to launch them.

As you can see in the clip and in the images, when trying to open an application, the tweak displays an alert message asking for fingerprint authentication, otherwise access will be restricted. Biosafety prevents the launch of applications without a fingerprint, regardless of where they try to access them, so you can rest easy because no one will be able to open any of your applications without having the fingerprint registered in iOS 7. Biosafety is only compatible with iPhone 5S and can be bought at the price of $3 from the repo BigBoss al Cydia.

Although it is the first tweak of this kind in Cydia, fortunately it is not the only one. Unfortunately, Bioprotect also has a small problem that generates overheating of the terminal, its developer recommending uninstalling the Activator until it is repaired.
