An Italian group of hackers called Hacking Team presented yesterday a software called Galileo which allows any person to exploit and monitor the way in which the respective device is used. Being able to exploit any operating system, including iOS since there is a solution of jailbreak, the software allows collection any type of data that is received or sent by the terminal, allows the monitoring of phone calls or messages, and all the information being sent to the team's server.

Since we founded the Hacking Team, we have understood the power of our software in law enforcement and intelligence investigations. We also understand the potential for abuse of the surveillance technologies that we produce, and so we take a number of precautions to limit the potential for that abuse. We provide our software only to governments or government agencies. We do not sell products to individuals or private businesses. We do not sell products to governments or to countries blacklisted by the US, EU, UN, NATO or ASEAN.

The software developed by hackers can be installed either by physically owning the terminal or by means of an online procedure, so that any terminal can be exploited at any time if the target is native and allows this. The interesting part is that the hacker team intends to offer this software only to government agencies that are interested in monitoring citizens and not to private individuals, so you can be "quiet" because only the government will monitor you.
