Apple ranks 4th in the list of companies that power their buildings using renewable energy

  Year after year, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), boasted about the use of renewable energy to provide electricity to its headquarters and data centers, too in a new study published the other day, the company occupies the fourth position in a list of the "greenest" companies. According to the data available in this top, which lists only American companies, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), last year they used 537,393,667 kWh of renewable energy for their own buildings and the figure pales in comparison to those of Intel or Microsoft.

  Intel occupies the first position in this top with 3,100,850,000 kWh used, being one of the few companies that uses only renewable energy for its buildings. It is placed on the 2nd place Microsoft with 1,935,551,000 kWh and on the 3rd place we find Google with 737,364,727 kWh. According to the same study, 85% of the electricity used by Apple comes from renewable sources, i.e. wind energy or solar energy, the rest coming from distributors of electricity produced by conventional methods.
