Exactly one week ago, Orange Romania organized a press conference to present its strategy looking expanding 4G coverage in Romania and then I gave you details about their plans. Starting from Orange extended the 4G network in over 1000 localities in Romania, 90 of them being cities, over 73% of the urban population, Orange having the most extensive 4G network in Romania. Practically the 4G coverage of Orange Romania this extended to all county seat municipalities in Romania, but also to a good part of the adjacent cities and to the mountain resorts on Prahova Valley.
I asked for a detailed list with the main locations where it is 4G coverage starting today, but unfortunately the Orange PR people did not provide me with one, but as you can see on the map above, from Bucharest to Constanta, Craiova, Timisoara, Pecica, Sighetu Marmatiei, Satu Mare, Botosani, Galati, Tulcea, Orange's 4G network covers all cardinal points. According to the new Orange CTO, Ştefan Slavnicu, the main cities have 100% outdoor coverage for 4G network, while secondary cities and third locations do not benefit from full coverage, but the network will be improved in the future.

Orange launched three new types of subscriptions, two of them dedicated to 4G, Pantera and Colibri, both offering the possibility of using a second SIM to connect to the Internet from a secondary device. Regarding 4G speed in Romania, we are talking about a theoretical speed of 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps uploadBut the real speed is 60-80 Mbps download and a little over 30 Mbps upload, only with the Superfast 4G option, as you can see from the image above, the test being done in Bucharest.
