Apple will use its own baseband chips in the iPhone only from next year

The past few days, the first rumors appeared indicating that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is building a team of engineers that will develop the future baseband chips of iPhones. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), employed numerous engineers of Broadcom si Qualcomm in the last months, but the faces developed by them could reach in iPhoneand tablets iPad next year at the earliest. The development of a baseband chip represents an extremely problematic process, and Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it needs a very long period of testing to produce suitable components, so we will have quite a wait until they are available in iDevices.

Apple wants to develop its own baseband chips in order to have a better integration of the hardware in the chips thought in its own campus. Apple can substantially improve battery life and improve the GSM performance of iPhones by producing its own baseband chip and implementing it in the A-series chips, so I for one can't wait to see Apple's new component in iDevices.
