iMessage is the text messaging service of those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, the American company allowing us to send messages to any other owner of a iDevice or Mac using an internet connection. iMessage sends messages instead of SMS, if we have the option activated in the Settings application, and in certain cases the messages are sent even if a Apple ID or phone number are no longer used with the service.

More precisely, in the situation where we change our phone and keep the number, those who have put us as a contact in their iDevices will send iMessages to us, but they will not arrive. The messages sent by those contacts via iMessage will be delivered in the system and will be marked as delivered, but they will not reach us anywhere, not even in the form of SMS messages.
Apple company it is consciousness about the existence of this problem and unfortunately, although its engineers are working on solving it, for now they do not have any solution to solve it. Unfortunately, iOS is configured in such a way that adding a contact with a phone number added to the iPhone field forces the use of iMessage for any messages, SMS being sent only in the absence of an Internet connection.
Unfortunately, Apple has not set a timeout service for the use of iMessage accounts and otherwise we will encounter this problem again every time we change a phone or phone number.
