Here's what unexpected product Apple is preparing to present at WWDC 2014

Although WWDC 2014 seemed to be focused on the presentation iOS 8 and OS X 10.10, Here Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), could prepare for us an extremely interesting surprise consisting of a completely new system. According to some information that appeared during this day, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is preparing to launch a system that could allow us to control various objects in the house using the iPhone and an application developed for iOS 8.

Apple's integrated system will make it easier to set up and control new "smart home" devices. For example, a home's lights might automatically come on when the owner enters the house, using their iPhone to wirelessly signal their arrival. Such a system was outlined in an Apple patent filing, published in November last year.

More precisely, we are talking about the possibility of controlling lights, security systems and other electronic products that can be connected through WiFi or Bluetooth to our iDevices. In practice, the system would only be compatible with various products that can be interconnected anyway with Apple's iDevices, so we are not talking about universal compatibility with any kind of devices on the market.

The scheme will be similar to Apple's existing "Made for iPhone" label, given to compatible headphones, speakers and other accessories, but with a new brand and logo. Apple may also provide additional checks and assurances that certified products are not vulnerable to hackers.

The new platform would be presented on June 2 together with the application for iOS 8, but more than that is not known for now. Considering the description made so far, Apple seems to only try to offer a universal application to control various home monitoring or control systems that have special dedicated applications, but maybe we will find something additional.
