iOS 8 Messages – important changes for the most used iOS application

Messages is the native iOS application with the highest degree of use among iDevice owners, or at least that's what Apple said on Monday. In this idea in iOS 8 application Messages it was seriously improved by those from Cupertino, thinking that we need a multitude of new options to keep us busy during long discussions with friends.

The first thing you will notice when you open the new application will be the new button with a microphone for the function Tap to Talk, which is located in the upper right part of the keyboard and allows us to record audio messages immediately by simply long pressing, holding down and pulling to the left allowing to cancel the recording. It is supported by the button for sending multimedia content, a long press automatically opens the camera for recording video clips or photos, a simple press opens a menu that allows the selection of multimedia content, the interface now also displays the latest recorded photos/video clips, the application allowing sending multiple photos or videos.

Practically Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has greatly simplified the procedure for sending multimedia content, but the important news does not stop there. On the page for the details of each contact, we now have options for sending information about our location, but also for sharing it temporarily or permanently. Immediately under this menu we have the option to activate Do Not Disturb only for that contact and not to be notified about the messages sent by him, finally a large photo/video gallery is available with all the attachments sent/received from that contact.

All this is completed by new options for conversation groups, they can be renamed at will, while users can be deleted without problems, for them being available exactly the same options as for individual contacts. In the end, we are left with the possibility to respond to messages from any iOS menu by interacting with the notification, including the LockScreen, and also from the LockScreen we can listen to any audio messages received by simply lifting the iPhone to the ear.

Basically, we are talking about an extremely important update made by Apple in iOS 8 for the Messages application, with many functions taken from Cydia tweaks and some from other App Store applications.
