At the beginning of this year the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), won in a Mexican court the right to ban the mobile phone company crease from Mexico the opportunity to promote its name in advertisements. The idea behind the lawsuit filed by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is to avoid generating confusion among consumers who might think that the operator is taking over the name of the terminal iPhone in Mexico.

The mobile phone operator acted initially Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), in court for the cancellation of the trademark patent for the name iPhone, but it failed, so Apple can continue to use the name. Although Apple still won the right to ban the iFone operator from using the iPhone name in advertisements, the problem is that no other operator can use it from now on.

Moreover, some operators were fined for using the name iPhone in advertisements and were ordered to withdraw all promotional materials from the market, infringing the trademark right for the name iFone. Now the Apple company will have to pay for its own iPhone promotional ads in Mexico and will probably have to pay for the amnesia of its partners as well.
