Orange expands 4G coverage in Romania

During this day mobile phone operators Orange Romania announced the expansion of coverage 4G in Romania, more precisely on the entire coast. Starting today, customers Orange I can access the network 4G in all the seaside resorts, from Flooding and to Vama Veche coverage being 100% for the entire population, but here we are only talking about outdoor coverage, not indoor coverage.

According Orange, in the network 4G from the coast and from all over the country, customers can reach real download speeds up to 80 Mbps, depending on the subscription or prepaid options used. Orange has at the moment coverage of 47% for the entire population of Romania and 75% for the urban population, having the largest 4G network in the whole country, surpassing Cosmote and Vodafone from this point of view.

Orange is currently the only operator that offers prepaid customers the opportunity to use 4G options with their own cards.

4G Internet from Orange, now also on the entire coast

Bucharest, June 6, 2014. Starting this summer, Orange customers who are at sea can use the Internet at 4G speeds. The 4G network was extended in all resorts, from Năvodari to Vama Veche, with a coverage of 100% of the population.

Orange's investment in a high-performance 4G network in this area comes in the context of significant increases in mobile internet consumption. Beachgoers are increasingly using their mobile phone to upload photos and check news on social networks, access various leisure apps, watch videos and get information. Last year, mobile internet consumption in the Orange network increased here by 70% in the peak of the season compared to the same period in 2012.

Following this expansion process, the Orange 4G network offers coverage for 47% of the Romanian population and 75% of the urban population, being still the most extensive 4G network in the country.

Orange customers who choose internet services at 4G speeds can achieve real average download speeds of 60-80 Mbps, depending on the subscription or option chosen. To help customers discover the benefits of this new technology, Orange offers those with compatible devices the opportunity to test the service for free for 90 days.

"It is very important for our customers to be able to rely on the Orange network wherever they are. Through this new extension of 4G coverage, we want to offer those who use the Internet at 4G speeds the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits brought by the latest technology even on vacation: fast access to information, social networks, online games, videos , television and everything the digital world can offer." said Jean-François Fallacher, CEO of Orange Romania.

Orange customers, both subscribers and users of Orange PrePay cards, have at their disposal a complete offer of subscriptions and options that include, in addition to internet traffic, access to the 4G network. Customers can choose from a wide range of 4G devices and the most extensive portfolio of compatible smartphones, which includes 30 models. Those who want to familiarize themselves with smartphones and mobile internet services have a dedicated support service through the team Orange Expert.

Since May, Orange customers can also use 4G services abroad[1] without additional charges, through 4G Roaming.
