Apple is forced to reduce iPad Mini prices to increase tablet sales

In Q2 2014 the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), recorded a decrease in sales of tablets iPad compared to the same period last year, this in the conditions where most analysts expected a slight increase in sales. Tim Cook admitted that tablets are not as popular anymore as they were in the past years, but although he said that he is not worried about this trend, here it is Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), decided to reduce the price of tablets iPad Mini in large American stores.

Apple has recently cooperated with US-based retailers including Best Buy and Amazon to cut its iPad mini prices. Channel retailers believe other brand vendors may follow suit to maintain their market shares. Amazon's 16GB iPad mini is now priced at US$240, while Best Buy is selling the same model for US$199, down US$100 from the original price. The price drops are expected to boost demand for the device, the channel retailers said.

Currently an American retailer sells the tablet iPad Mini at the price of only $199, $100 less than the price set by Apple at the end of last year, a sign that there is concern in Cupertino. This serious reduction in the price of iPad tablets will probably also generate a reaction from Apple's competitors, those from Samsung now selling their tablets in the US at the price of $169, the difference compared to the iPad Mini being small enough to convince some customers to avoid Korean products.
