iPhone 6 - why would a programmable Power button be useful?

iPhone 6 assembled - iDevice.ro 1

We have known that for almost half a year iPhone 6 will be available in two models, iPhone 6 with 4.7 inch screen si iPhone 6 with 5.5 inch screen, both of which will have a repositioned Power button. In the image above you can see that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), a repositioned the Power button on the right side of the iPhone 6, above the SIM drawer, and today I heard for the first time that he could be programmable to perform more functions besides locking and closing or resetting the terminal.

Of course, no one knows for sure what additional functions it could offer Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for the Power button, but we can speculate that it could be about new options for opening applications, for quickly accessing the camera application from LockScreen, or who knows what else. Even though we have heard that the button will be programmable, this does not mean that we will have options for its programming from the Settings application, as Apple can only offer a set of predefined functions available through it.

To be completely honest, I don't think Apple would really provide additional utility to this button if it implemented new functions for double or triple taps, or if it allowed for easier interaction with iWatch. Would you like the Power button to be programmable and to be able to program it yourself? Do you think it would improve your user experience?
