Apple pays $100 million to give away U2's Songs of Innocence album for free

  At the end of the conference for the presentation iPhone 6, 6 iPhone Plus si Apple Watch, the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), invited the band to the conference stage U2 which premiered a new album called Songs of Innocence. After the performance, Tim Cook went on stage and announced that all users iTunes will be able to download for free the new album of those from U2, company Apple paying no less than 100 million dollars for this and for the right to use the songs in his commercials.

  Bond, the lead singer of the band U2, admitted that Apple paid for the album, it will be available exclusively on iTunes for a month and all 500 million Apple ID holders will be able to download it for free. This is the first time that Apple chooses to promote new products in such a way and it remains to be seen whether the strategy chosen by the American company will be successful or not.
