TELEKOM Romania – 50.000 Romanians lit MAGENTA for the launch of the brand

  TELEKOM Romania was officially launched last weekend through a merger of COSMOTE si Romtelecom, the new brand being received in our country by 50.000 people present at the 3 concerts organized in the country. THE LAUNCH OF TELEKOM Romania was made in the frame the most interactive show in Romania which connected 4 cities, 3 from the country and Berlin, over 50.000 people being present at all 4 events.

  Event participants had the opportunity to publish images from all locations using application Come!, they could vote for the songs that were to be sung on stage, the entire interactive performance of TELEKOM Romania being organized in 4 main moments:

  • the first live karaoke, in three cities simultaneously, with over 50.000 voices  who sang at the same time;
  • "Vote the song"  – the participants could choose which song to follow on stage;
  • the biggest social media wall – all photos posted in the application or on social media platforms with the hashtag #fanmagenta were posted in real time on a huge screen;
  • "Light Up the Magenta" - the participants simultaneously pressed the "Light Magenta" button in the application and thus triggered an impressive show of lights and lasers, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

50.000 Romanians launched the Telekom Romania brand

  • Telekom Romania is the first brand launched by consumers;
  • Bucharest, Cluj and Iasi simultaneously hosted the most interactive show in Romania;
  • The rebranding of Romtelecom and COSMOTE into Telekom Romania was called the "business event of the decade" and was covered in over 300 materials in the national and international press, reaching over 10 million people.

More than 50.000 Romanians controlled the launch show of the new brand, through the latest technologies offered by Telekom Romania. The cities of Bucharest (30.000 participants), Cluj and Iasi (10.000 participants each) were connected by live transmissions in real time, to offer the most interactive show so far in Romania.

The show was controlled by the participants through the HAI! (available in Play Store and App Store), which mediated the sharing of thousands of experiences in the digital environment. The application registered more than 25.000 downloads and connected the participants to the main moments of the show:

  • the first live karaoke, in three cities simultaneously, with over 50.000 voices  who sang at the same time;
  • "Vote the song"  – the participants could choose which song to follow on stage;
  • the biggest social media wall – all photos posted in the application or on social media platforms with the hashtag #fanmagenta were posted in real time on a huge screen;
  • "Light Up the Magenta" - the participants simultaneously pressed the "Light Magenta" button in the application and thus triggered an impressive show of lights and lasers, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

The event was attended by almost all the singers of the moment in Romania, including Inna, Loredana, Antonia or Smiley (Bucharest), Horia Brenciu (Cluj-Napoca) or 3SudEst (Iași).

The new shared Facebook page of Telekom Romania fb.com/telekom.romania had a reach of nearly 5 million users, with a total of over 10 million impressions in the week prior to the rebranding. Almost 200.000 unique visitors accessed the event's website (www.fanmagenta.ro) in less than three weeks.

The launch of the new brand was communicated with the support of GMP Advertising (marketing communication and consumer launch events), V+O Communication (corporate communication, corporate launch events and internal communication), Bakers Digital Communication (social media), Media Investment ( media services) and Webstyler (digital). The concept of the launch campaign was developed by GMP Advertising.

On September 13, Telekom Romania entered the local market with a one-stop-shop philosophy and an innovative commercial concept. Consumers can enjoy the new Telekom brand experience and the new commercial offers through fixed-mobile integrated stores, a single call center, a common website -  www.telekom.ro– or through a shared social media presence.
