Here's how to use the iPad tablet to talk on the phone using an iPhone (TUTORIAL)

In iOS 8 si OS X Yosemite Apple has implemented an extremely interesting function that allows us to we use an iPad tablet to initiate or accept phone calls through an iPhone. The iPad tablet has a speaker and microphone included to make calls FaceTime, so you have everything you need to use this feature, but you have to go through a few steps before you can fully enjoy it.

The idea behind this system is to allow you to answer a call or initiate another when you don't have your iPhone in the immediate vicinity, but you are using an iPad tablet, the function having limitations that prevent its use in any conditions.

How to use iPad for phone calls on iPhone

  1. Connect an iPhone and an iPad tablet to the same Apple ID by Settings>iCloud or Settings>iCloud.
  2. Make sure they are connected to the same Wi-Fi HotSpot and you can check this in Settings> Wi-Fi or Settings>Wi-Fi. This is extremely IMPORTANT because without it the function cannot be used.
  3. To activate FaceTime on both terminals by connecting them to the same Apple ID with the same dialing options selected. You can check the phone numbers or emails where you can be contacted via FaceTime in Settings>FaceTime or Settings>FaceTime.
  4. Activate the function iPhone cellular calls or iPhone cellular calls on iPhone and iPad from Settings>FaceTime or Settings>FaceTime.

After making these settings, every time you will be called on your phone number, the tablet will ring at the same time. On the tablet you will hear the conversation using the integrated loudspeaker of the Apple product, the microphone picking up everything you say, the way of use being similar to that of a FaceTime call, the difference being that you will not use the front camera. You will not be able to connect the iPad tablet to two iPhones simultaneously with two different phone numbers for this function.
