iOS 8.1 will be released tonight and in two separate articles we have told you about reasons recommending installation yes, but also about the time at which it will be available for update through Apple's servers. Now some of you are probably wondering how to proceed to install iOS 8.1 in your own terminals and the reality is that the procedure itself is extremely simple and only involves a long wait for the files to download from Apple's servers.
iOS 8.1 can be installed very easily just by using the Software Update system, Software Update, present in Settings > General > Software Update, Settings > General > Software Update, with the new version listed there as soon as it becomes available. To do the Software Update directly from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you will only need to make sure that you have at least 1.5 GB free in the latest iPad tablets and up to 1 GB in iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and press the update button as soon as iOS 8.1 is available.
The second method of installing iOS 8.1 involves using iTunes, and in this case you will have to connect your terminal to the computer, press the Check for Update button and wait until the software is downloaded and installed. This procedure will update the data in the terminals without deleting them beforehand, but it is advisable to make a backup beforehand using iCloud or iTunes.
In the case of both procedures it is advisable to make a backup, but to the same extent you must know the password of your Apple ID if the terminal is protected by Find My iPhone, because it will be requested after the installation procedure is completed.
