iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus do not attract a large number of owners of Android terminals

iPhone 6 and 6 iPhone Plus were presented as smartphones Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), that will convince most owners of Android terminals to switch to the American company's platform, but the reality turns out to be completely different. According to a study carried out in the US by a market analysis agency, this year Apple convinced fewer owners of Android terminals to switch to its new products. The difference from last year is colossal, and you can see in the image above that most of those who bought the new products are actually old owners of the iDevices.

The vast majority of new iPhone buyers were already iPhone owners." said Josh Lowitz, CIRP Partner and Co-Founder. "Current iPhone owners accounted for over 80% of buyers after this launch, compared to less than 65% after the iPhone 5S and 5C launch in September 2013. Android owners accounted for a much smaller share of buyers immediately after this year's iPhone launch, and with smartphones so prevalent in the US, we also saw a smaller percentage of iPhone buyers moving from basic phones.

The data is extremely surprising considering that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C convinced more owners of other terminals to buy them than iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus this year, and that while most of the world was expecting a completely different outcome. The numbers prove that Apple still has a lot to change about its iPhones to attract the attention of other mobile phone owners, and the coming years will probably bring us at least as big changes.
