Huawei: Windows Phone did not generate profit for smartphone manufacturers

Huawei is one of the largest manufacturers of mobile terminals in the world and recently reaffirmed its intentions not to restart the production of terminals running the Windows Phone operating system.

Huawei made the decision to abandon the Windows Phone platform many months ago, and now announces that it will not re-enter a collaboration with Microsoft in this segment for a very simple reason: it does not make money. Joe Kelly, the head of the international press relations division, recently stated that Huawei will no longer produce smartphones running the Windows Phone operating system because it has not generated profit in the past either for them or for the rest of the smartphone manufacturers from the globe.

Concidering as most of the sales generated by Huawei are outside the USA, the manufacturer's decision is as logical as possible, since Windows Phone is not even that popular in other areas of the world. The statement is not that surprising because it is not the first, but it once again confirms the major problem that Microsoft has in convincing its partners that the Windows Phone platform deserves further support.

Those from Microsoft failed to produce a competing iOS and Android operating system that would generate revenue for producers, so its future is as bleak as it can be at the moment. Microsoft bought Nokia and can produce its own smartphones in the coming years, but if they do not bring profit, then the division will most likely be closed in a few years and Windows Phone will be forgotten.
