Bar-o-Meter is an application available for some time in the App Store, it is made to retrieve information directly from the barometer and altimeter of iDevices. Just iPhone 6, 6 iPhone Plus and iPad Air 2 contain these sensors, so you will not be able to use the application with other Apple terminals.
Based on the information taken from these two sensors, the Bar-o-Meter can provide us with information regarding the altitude we are at, as well as the atmospheric pressure. In the case of the latter, there are multiple options for displaying the data, so you will be able to view them in any format you want without any problem.
Bar-o-Meter reads the pressure from the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 barometer sensor and uses it to calculate your altitude. It also gives you the weather forecast and it shows the pressure in different measurement units. On the iPhone 5S and older devices, it uses accurate internet services, to also display pressure and altitude.
Considering that terminals older than those previously mentioned do not have altimeter and barometer, the Bar-o-Meter application uses the Internet to display relevant information for them. In this idea, details about the atmospheric pressure in your location are retrieved based on an internet connection, so they could be different from those recorded locally.
