CES 2015: Fidelio NC1L – Lightning headphones that work without batteries

Fidelio NC1L CES 2015

Fidelio NC1L is a new pair of headphones presented at CES 2015 by company Phillips, being the second pair of Lightning headphones that work without a battery. Last year, Phillips released a pair of Lightning headphones that, unlike them, did not have an ambient noise cancellation system implemented.

Fidelio NC1L they are equipped with such a chip, but more than that, they have a digital-to-analog converter capable of playing 24-bit sounds. All these achievements were possible without implementing a battery in the headphones, they take the energy necessary for operation directly from our terminals, so their autonomy will be seriously reduced.

To effectively cancel background noises, Fidelio NC1L they have implemented four microphones, so theoretically you should hear the sounds without being disturbed. Normally, headphones with such integrated technologies would need an additional battery, but those from Phillips they achieved everything without batteries because the energy is taken from iDevices.

Fidelio NC1L has two operating modes available for canceling ambient noises, so you can hear a part of what is happening around you. Those from Phillips intend to sell the Fidelio NC1L headphones in the USA at the price of $300 in the near future, so we are talking about a premium price for a product, theoretically, to measure.
