For the first time, Google Play has more applications than the App Store

Google Play App Store applications

About two years ago Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it had some advantages over the platform Android and they were mainly related to App Store, but during 2014 they disappeared. According to the latest information on the number of applications available in App Store si Google Play, the shop from Google surpassed the Apple store for the first time.

Specifically, Google Play has 1.43 million applications available to users, while the App Store has 1.21 million applications available, the difference between them being substantial. If at the end of 2013 App Store it still had an advantage over Google Play from this point of view, at the end of 2014 things look completely different, Apple losing the first position, probably definitively.

We can see the relationship here between app growth and new developers, with most new Apple developers publishing business apps. What's interesting is how games started off slow and sped up around March, catching up with the steadily growing lifestyle category. It's no surprise that Apple developers, much like their Google counterparts, are focusing on mainstream apps.

The increase in the number of applications available in Google Play it is easily explained by the fact that it is based on no less than 390.000 developers who produce applications for users. In comparison, the App Store has 280.000 developers who produce applications, but they also pay $100 annually to have the privilege of publishing these creations in the Apple store.

For Apple, this difference represents a serious problem, Google surpassing it in almost all aspects in the segment of mobile terminals. The only key point in which Apple maintains its supremacy remains the profit, but Google Play is not far behind the App Store and will surely surpass it soon also in terms of the profit generated for developers.
