Blackberry's CEO calls for the porting of Apple applications to the Blackberry platform

John Chen

Although this year The CEO of Blackberry criticized the Apple company for its inability to secure the data of customers who use the iCloud system, now he comes with a direct request from those in Cupertino. More exactly, John Chen asks the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to port their own applications on the platform Blackberry, and of course this will not happen.

The indirect request made by John Chen it comes in an open letter sent to the senate American, the CEO discussing in it the neutrality of the Internet. He says that though Blackberry offers iPhone owners access to the Blackberry Messenger network, Apple does not offer iMessage for Blackberry or Android, even though the company supports net neutrality.

Unlike BlackBerry, which allows iPhone users to download and use our BBM service, Apple does not allow BlackBerry or Android users to download Apple's iMessage messaging service. Netflix, which has forcefully advocated for carrier neutrality, has discriminated against BlackBerry customers by refusing to make its streaming movie service available to them.

Indirectly John Chen demands the launch of Apple's applications and services on other platforms if Apple supports the neutrality of the Internet and its interpretation on this subject is quite loose. Apple's strategy of not offering its own services on other platforms forces users to buy its products to benefit from them, and this will not change.

In the same vein, no matter how neutral the Internet remains, Apple's competing companies will continue to offer their services and applications on the iOS platform.
