Decoding iPhones is free in the US starting today

decoding phones

If you have a iPhone that was bought from a US mobile phone operator and is encrypted, then today I have good news for you, because a new law requires free decoding of mobile phones. The law came into effect starting today and based on it, any mobile phone operator in the US is obliged to decode any mobile phone when the contractual period of the subscription with which it was purchased has expired. In the same idea, any phone bought at full price must be decoded by the operators at no cost to the ordinary user.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular si Verizon are the main mobile phone operators that will be obliged to respect the law, but even the little ones will do it. These operators will notify their users about their eligibility for free decoding, so if you have an iPhone bought in the US, you may be able to decode it for free. The American legislation is similar to that of Romania, in our country the mobile phone operators decode the terminals free of charge under exactly the same conditions, these rules being final.

For certain mobile terminals, decoding involves the payment of a reasonable fee, and mobile phones bought together with prepaid cards will only be able to be decoded one year after activation.
