Digi Mobile increases mobile internet speed in Bucharest

RCS & RDS announced the increase Digi Mobil's mobile internet speeds through a press release published just a few minutes ago on its own website, the change applying for now to Bucharest and 24 cities in Romania. According to RCS & RDS, the Internet browsing speed in the Digi Mobil network increases to 21.6 Mbps for download and 5.8 Mbps for upload, far below what competitors in the mobile segment offer. Constanta and the resorts on the Romanian coast, Iasi, Galati, Braila, Pitesti, Arad, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Bacau and Vaslui will benefit from growth in a first stage, Bucharest, Ilfov, Brasov, Cluj, Timisoara, Craiova, Oradea, Sibiu , Targu Mures, Baia Mare, Satu Mare, Ramnicu Valcea, Hunedoara, Ploiesti, Resita, Slatina, Targu Jiu being part of the second.

The new transfer speeds for the Digi Mobil network applies for the frequencies of 900 MHz and 2100 MHz, but only in the coverage areas of the operator, so not where there is national roaming through Vodafone. Separately, those from RCS & RDS announce the expansion of the coverage areas for the frequencies of 900 MHz and 2100 MHz, but only the 25 cities mentioned above will benefit from the new speeds. Practically, RCS & RDS now manages to reach with the transfer speeds what the rest of the mobile operators had available 3-4 years ago, so that by 2020 we will have 4G in Digi Mobile.

Starting from March, RCS & RDS increases Internet access speeds in the Digi Mobil network, to 21,6 Mbps for download and 5,8 Mbps for upload, through 3G technology, in Bucharest and in 24 cities in the country.

The new transfer speeds of 21,6 Mbps for download and 5,8 Mbps for upload are available through 3G technology, both in the 2100 Mhz frequency band and in the 900 Mhz band, for better accessibility and quality of mobile data services, in the areas covered by Digi Mobil's own network.

At the same time, RCS & RDS continues in 2015 the significant investments in expanding its own mobile network in the 900 Mhz frequency band, both in the areas currently covered in the 2100 Mhz frequency band, as well as in new areas.
