Apple is preparing major changes for Apple Maps

Apple change Apple MapsApple is preparing major changes for Apple Maps, and we learn this directly from the American company, it intends to make a series of changes to the infrastructure behind its geolocation service for iDevice/Macs. In this idea, Apple is looking to hire an engineer specialized in the administration of data distribution systems at the global level, who will join the team that controls Apple Maps to help it carry out the changes prepared by Apple.

Although the Apple company does not say clearly what changes it intends to make for Apple Maps, it seems that we are talking about a major improvement of its services that will involve changes both on the servers and on the interface. Based on what Apple tells us, it seems that we are talking about a major improvement in the performance of the Apple Maps system, along with the implementation of new functions for users.

Apple Maps is front and center on hundreds of millions of devices, and the Maps Data Services team designs and builds the data platform that powers them all. We have big plans and we're looking for engineers and leaders that can design and build clean, scalable, and performant data services, as well as help trace, monitor, and debug data as it proceeds through a complex pipeline. We're overhauling things front-to-back and want engineers that live and breathe data and distributed services.

Although for now it is not clear what Apple intends to do with Apple Maps for iOS 9, a few weeks ago we saw the first indications regarding the changes that we would experience. More exactly, Apple has a series of cars on the streets of the USA that record images from various locations, a sign that in iOS 9 we might have a Street View system for Appls Maps, but for now nothing is 100% certain, although we will probably find out on June 8.
