Simple Machines is the best app of the week for iPad

Simple MachinesApple announced the best application of the week for iPad during the past few days, shortly after publication free app of the week and the best applications of the week for iPhone. Simple Machines is the best application of the week for iPad chosen by Apple, it was developed by the company Tinybop, the developer of other titles promoted by Apple.

Simple Machines brings us to a virtual world where six simple experiments are carried out in which we have to discover how they work and the "invisible" forces that make them work. The game is presented as one specially created for children, but anyone can play it in their spare time, the action giving us the opportunity to destroy castles, kill dragons or create music in pinball games.

Explore the playful side of STEM! Experiment with six simple machines, discover how they work, and investigate the invisible forces behind them in this sandbox app. Destroy a castle with a lever — but beware of the dragon! Make music in a pinball arcade with inclined planes. Send satellites into orbit with a set of pulleys. Lift sloshing fish tanks with screws. Travel through a wondrous world with a wheel and axle. Split an iceberg of mirrors with a wedge.

As we told you above, Simple Machines is based on 6 simple machines, all the experiments created by the developers for us based on objects existing in the real world, but also movements based on physics. The game is sophisticated enough to keep anyone busy, but intuitive enough to be understood by a child, who could learn something from using it.

  • Explore 6 simple machines: levers, pulleys, inclined planes, wedges, wheels and axles, and screws.
  • Experiment with real world physics, actions and reactions, inputs and outputs. Learn about force and motion.
