Smartphones with large screens, known in the wider world as phablets, are beginning to occupy an increasingly important role in consumers' lives, but the implementation of a large screen is only half of the "problem" for manufacturers. When you implement a large screen in a smartphone, you must be very careful that the size of the screen is proportional to the size of the case, otherwise you risk having a case larger than the screen, which is undesirable, although Apple does it year after year with its terminals.
A website from Denmark thought to show us which of the phablets have the largest screens in relation to the cases, calculating in percentages what portion of the front panel of the terminals is cut off from the screen. According to them, Sharp Aquos Crystal has the largest screen in relation to the case, the screen occupying no less than 78.5% of the surface of the front panel, a real achievement for the company.
After that we have Sharp Aquos Crystal 2 with 77.2%, Oppo R7 Plus with 76.6%, LG G2 with 76.1% and LG G3 with 75.3%. In the case of all these smartphones, as well as a few others visible in the image below, the screen plays such an important role that it occupies most of the front panel, allowing users to use devices of reasonable size, but with large screens.
At the opposite pole of the graph we find the terminals of the Apple company, the iPhone 6 Plus screen occupying 67.9% of the front panel, that of the iPhone 6 occupying 65.3% of the front panel, while the iPhone 5S screen occupies 60.9% of the front screen. Basically Apple not even so interested in offering users more screen compared to the case, but this was known for a long time.
Unfortunately for us, the Apple company doesn't really think that much about how a smartphone with a large screen should look in order to be very efficient and have the right dimensions, those from Cupertino are only focused on keeping the design " iconic" of the iPhone.
