Facebook Messenger will have a new location module

Facebook Messenger locationFacebook Messenger it will have a new way to locate users during conversations, at the moment the application performs constant localizations and displays approximate information about the positioning of a user. In the future, those from Facebook intend to allow location only at the request of users, and this will be much more accurate than in the past to allow their friends to find each other more easily.

The new function can be accessed through a visible button in the lower right part of the application, accessing it by retrieving GPS information and displaying our location in a Nokia HERE Maps interface. This location is then shared with our friends, who will know exactly the location from which we send them messages, something that is not done with even that much accuracy at the moment.

The new design for location sharing in Messenger is rolling out today for everyone on iOS and Android. It banishes the blue arrow and any way to constantly share your coordinates. It's replaced with a pin button alongside those for sending photos, stickers, or money, or an option in the three-dot More drawer. Tapping it pulls up a map with your current location pinned, which you can send to friends with one more tap.

Of course, after opening the map with your location, you can change the PIN to set a different meeting point with your friends, so you have the option not to share your exact location, but another address. Sharing the location will now be done in much fewer steps than in the past, just two or three touches allowing you to notify your friends about the address where you are, those from Facebook claiming that this system will make the discovery of friends much easier easy.
