After years of speculation, today we learn that Apple is testing one iPhone without Home button in his laboratories in Cupertino, the device being thought to work only by touching the touch screen, he is going to teach us to get used to another control system for the interface.
According to information provided today by an Asian publication, this iPhone without a Home button would have an integrated fingerprint reader to continue offering Touch ID functionality, but the Home button will become history sooner or later.
Launching an iPhone without a Home button would allow Apple to reduce the thickness of its smartphones, so that such a device will be thinner than the 6.9mm that currently forms the profile of the iPhone 6.
Apple has already developed several prototypes of an iPhone without a Home button and is testing them in its laboratories, requesting from certain partners touch panels that have integrated fingerprint readers in order to verify a potential launch of such a product.
The TDDI single-chip solutions will also come with integrated fingerprint sensors, said the sources. The integrated design would fit into future iPhone designs – models with ultra-thin and ultra-narrow displays, and with a whole plane design eliminating the Home button.
The prototypes are described as having ultra-thin screens with ultra-narrow screens, so we could also talk about a radical change for the entire design of the future iPhone terminals in order to offer a thinner profile and a lower weight.
For now, it is not known when Apple is testing iPhone terminals that do not have integrated Home buttons, and it is not known if they will ever reach the market, but multiple concepts published on the Internet have presented us with such devices.
