Apple supports LGBT through a section of the App Store

LGBT AppleApple supports LGBT through a section a App Store, more precisely those from Cupertino are promoting this section where a multitude of applications related to this movement are available, but the initiative is based on another motivation.

More precisely, the Apple company commemorates the 1969 riots that took place in Stonewall, New York, where multiple members of the LGBT community demanded equal rights with the rest of the American citizens, this being seen as an extremely important moment in the existence of this movement.

In the section for LGBT support, the Apple company promotes a multitude of applications dedicated to this movement, films, music, TV shows, podcasts and books that present the history of the movement, or films such as Milk that present the fight of the gay community for equal rights.

Every June, we commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots—a history-making moment in which gay men and women fought back after decades of relentless discrimination. It heralded the beginning of the modern gay rights movement, launching the struggle for public visibility, cultural acceptance, and legal equality that the LGBT community has continued fighting for ever since. To celebrate these efforts, we've gathered a selection of movies, music, TV shows, apps, and more—all reflecting the broad and diverse spectrum of LGBT pride.

For those of you who don't already know, LGBT means lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (transsexual), the Apple company being a strong supporter of equal rights for these minorities, Tim Cook confirming that he is gay, so the support movements are normal.

Last year Apple participated in the LGBT pride parade from San Francisco, but Google, Facebook, Microsoft and many other companies equally support equal rights for LGBT communities, this being the normal practice in the US and beyond.
