More than two years ago, Apple launched the iBeacons technology to give the big stores on the planet the opportunity to send iPhone terminals notifications for the discounts of the stores located in them.
Using a dedicated application and Bluetooth technology, an iBeacon can automatically detect an iPhone that is near it and send it notifications with any kind of messages that a store wants to display in the form of notifications, the technology becoming very popular.
After Apple launched iBeacon, various companies developed modules compatible with Android terminals, and now they are also used in Romania to bring to your attention various discounts available in the mall for stores running various promotions.
Those from Pro TV presented the implementation of Beacon technology in AFI Palace Cotroceni in Bucharest, but as usual without giving the name of the mall or the company that produced the technology considering that they did not pay for the free promotion made by the television .
Even so, the location is clear and the technology works including for the hypermarket within its premises, but without the application to send notifications you cannot find out anything and of course it was not presented with a name by the television, and the mall it doesn't seem to have an official one in the App Store.
In any case, if you visit the mall and you see the program promoted, then it is worth downloading the application and activating the Bluetooth system to see what are the best promotions around the stores you visit because you might find something interesting.
Abroad, Beacon technology is widely used by large shopping centers and I recommend you to take advantage of the technology because you never know what you might find interesting for purchase in a store.
