Android unlock patterns are as easy to guess as passwords

Android unlock patternAndroid has implemented by Google a system that allows unlocking based on combinations of gestures performed on the screens, i.e. patterns or patterns, replacing the classic security codes or passwords.

Some say that these types of patterns are much more secure than classic passwords, but a study carried out by a Norwegian researcher reveals that they are actually just as easy to guess as classic passwords or security codes, so you don't have to worry fool with them.

According to the study that analyzed the patterns of over 4000 people who use terminals Android, 77% of the people analyzed created these patterns starting from one of the 4 corners of the screen, 44% of them starting the pattern from the top left.

According to the study, the people who create these patterns for Android terminals have the same habits as those who use passwords or write security codes, so theoretically they would be as easy to guess as any other similar data protection method.

Most of those who use such patterns use only 4 connection points on the screens, connecting 8 points being the least used method, most people trying to reproduce the initials of their names or those of close people.

Having said that, if a person tells you that the patterns offered by Android terminals are more secure, then you can explain the fact that in reality all simple protection methods are just as easy to guess.
