Digi Mobil 4G – investments of tens of millions of euros annually

Digi Mobil 4G investmentsDigi Mobile 4G will be launched next month by the company RCS & RDS according to an announcement made last week, and today we learn some new details regarding the plans regarding its expansion.

According to Valentin Popoviciu, the development director of RCS & RDS, the company will install more than 400 4G antennas this year in the cities where it announced the availability of the new network, but also in some of the cities where it will be expanded during 2015.

Network development budget Digi Mobile 4G is several tens of millions of euros annually, those from RCS & RDS purchasing a 4G license valid until 2029, so it has enough time to develop its network in our country, far behind its competitors.

The investment budget of RCS & RDS for the launch and expansion of the network Digi Mobile 4G it is not known for reasons quite easy to understand, but Orange, Vodafone and Telekom have invested over 100 million euros in their own networks in less than 2 years, and in the case of those from RDS, the same thing will not happen.

RCS & RDS comes "from behind" and only has the chance to reach its competitors to a certain extent, but this while they are already investing in the expansion of 4G+ networks that will be supported including in iPhone terminals, so they will be in full expansion including next year.

Practically, Digi Mobil 4G is launched a year and a half after the official launch of the extended networks of the large mobile operators in Romania, the first 4G networks with limited coverage being launched almost two years ago, they are going to move to the "next step ” until Digi Mobil 4G will be functional in enough cities to be relevant.
