tvOS is the name of the Apple TV 4 operating system

tvOS Apple TV 4Today Apple TV 4 will be presented by the Apple company in an iPhone 6S conference that will start in Cupertino in less than 3 hours, but before the product makes its appearance on the stage we learn that its operating system will be called tvOS.

We know that Apple TV 4 will run a simplified version of iOS 9 to allow them to run applications, but from a brand patent filed by the Apple company in November 2014 we learn that the name of this operating system is going to be tvOS and not iOS, as it was called until now.

The name is similar to those used for iOS or WATCH, tvOS following to include the interface of the current iOS for Apple TV, but with many graphic elements taken from iOS 9 or El Capitan to give users a better user experience.

The trademark patent filed in November 2014 in Jamaica for TVOS was also filed in other countries by a subsidiary company of Apple, those from Cupertino generally choosing to file invention or trademark patents in that country to hide them of press.

The company that filed these patents is called Television OnStream LLC, tvOS LLC for short, the Apple company using a similar tactic in 2010 when it hid the trademark and invention patents for the iPad through various subsidiary companies created specifically for this purpose.

Having said that, Apple TV 4 will run an operating system called tvOS, and tonight starting at 19:30 I'm waiting for you here to discuss it.
