iPad Mini 4 – 2 GB RAM, small battery, copy of iPad Air 2

iPad Air 2 2 GB RAM, small battery, disassemblyiPad Mini 4 it was disassembled yesterday by the people from iFixIt, and inside it were discovered many components that have already been in the iPad Air 2 for almost a year, the new tablet being a more or less faithful copy of the old one.

The iPad Mini 4 has, just like the iPad Air 2 and old iPhone models, a fully laminated screen that allowed the thickness to be reduced by gluing the screen and the glass, the battery having a special design that allows faster disconnection, the Touch ID cable being integrated directly into the screen .

Regarding the battery, the iPad Mini 4 has a smaller and thinner one than the one in the iPad Mini 3, this one having only 5124 mAh compared to 6471, so we are talking about a significant decrease in the capacity to store energy, the iPad Mini 4 still having and the antennas positioned differently.

iPad Mini 4 has an 8 megapixel main camera compared to the 5 megapixel one used in the past, it has a 1.2 megapixel front camera and the A8 chip that hides 2 GB of RAM inside, but a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz based on the first estimates.

iPad Mini 4 vs iPad Mini 3 battery

As expected, the iPad Mini 4 gets a score of 2 out of 10 for the ease with which it can be repaired, the battery being the only easily removable element, but the same score was given to the iPad Air 2, so things are as normal as possible.

Apart from these, the only notable difference is the reduction in thickness from 7.5mm in the iPad Mini 3 to 6.1mm in the iPad Mini 4, otherwise we are talking about the same components of the iPad Air 2 recycled for use in the new tablet from Cupertino.
