iPhone 6S - disappointing sales in an important country

iPhone 6S sales drop in JapaniPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were sold in 13 million of copies in 3 days, but despite this sales record, it seems that the terminals do not have that much success in every market where they are sold at the moment.

Specifically, it seems like sales iPhone 6S si 6S iPhone Plus in Japan they would be 10-15% lower than in the same period last year when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were launched, the drop being a considerable one, at least according to the Japanese analysts who followed the launch.

Although sales are 10-15% lower than last year, the largest mobile operator in the country, NTT DoCoMo, claims that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus still recorded strong sales, probably better than in the case of the launches of Samsung terminals.

With the decrease in the number of terminals sold, the operator confirmed that the number of people who waited in line for the launch of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, but for this latter decrease there is also a relatively plausible explanation.

Apple's iPhone products have strong demand in Japan and accounted for 60% of the country's smartphone sales in 2014. Japan-based telecom carrier NTT DoCoMo pointed out that its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus sales were still strong, but the popularity and number of people that lined up outside stores were both weaker than for their predecessors.

The operator attributes the small number of people to the announcement that stocks in stores will be low on the day of launch, many waiting for their update, but the truth is that the trend of waiting in line is disappearing, people preferring to order products online and wait for them at home.

Japan is one of the extremely important countries for the Apple company and the drop in sales suggests that the Japanese are not really that impressed with the changes made by the Apple company in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus this year.
