Apple is developing a panic button for the iPhone

iPhone panic buttonApple is developing a panic button for the iPhone, the American company already registering a patent at the US Patent and Trademark Office, the new technology being closely linked to the system touch ID of iDevices.

More precisely, the Apple company thought of a system that would activate a series of functions of iPhone terminals when a certain fingerprint is scanned by the user, all actions being taken in the background, without the terminal giving any indication of their operation.

This panic button is intended to be activated when the user is in danger or feels that he will be in danger, completely blocking the terminal and data access, while sending a help message to the emergency services.

Once this panic button for the iPhone is activated, the terminal could transmit video and audio feeds to the emergency services that would be called automatically, the data being used to help the user and possibly catch a potential criminal, or send an ambulance or fire crew.

The mobile device uses a fingerprint sensor to authenticate a user for allowing secure access to certain mobile device functions or contents, and provides a utility in addition to unlocking the mobile device. In other implementations, the user may register particular fingerprints to be associated with different modes of operation and activate the different modes based on the particular fingerprints.

This panic button could have various modes of operation in iOS and could activate a variety of working modes, so that it could simulate the existence of a new terminal without data, a completely blocked terminal and could only offer certain functions.

Each mode of operation could be activated by placing a certain finger on the fingerprint reader, so Apple describes a very interesting method by which an iPhone could offer us help in cases of extreme need.

Unfortunately, we are talking about a technology that is being developed, so it remains to be seen when it could be launched.
