Apple announces the closure of the iTunes App Store

close the App StoreDuring the day yesterday the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to announce the closure of iTunes App Store and the Mac App Store for all users around the world, they no longer have access to stores to download applications.

The closure is part of the traditional Christmas program of the Apple company, those from Cupertino closing their online stores between December 22 and 29, 2015 to give employees a week of vacation before the start of the new year, this being the annual practice.

During this period, all the App Store charts will freeze worldwide and developers will not be able to publish, withdraw or modify applications unless they have programmed this through iTunes Connect before the system shutdown takes effect at Apple.

The busiest season on the App Store is almost here. Make sure your apps are up-to-date and ready for the winter holidays. New apps and app updates will not be accepted December 22-29, so any releases should be submitted, approved, and scheduled in advance. Other iTunes Connect functionality will remain available.

Because of your incredible apps, the App Store crossed 100 billion cumulative downloads. Revenue from the App Store increased 25% year over year, and the number of transacting customers grew 18%, setting a new all-time record. We want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our platforms.

Having said that, keep in mind that between December 22 and 29, not many things will change in the App Store, and if you are a developer, you must be careful to schedule all the changes for your applications in advance.
