Find My iPhone was the basis of an attack on an innocent family

Find My iPhoneFind My iPhone is one of the most useful services ever created by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, with its help, lost or stolen iDevice/Macs can be recovered, blocked or completely deleted, the service being useful even for saving the lives of some people.

Unfortunately Find My iPhone it can also prove to be very dangerous, as a mother and her son found out the other day in the USA, when they were attacked by a man and two women who claimed that their iPhone was in the victims' house.

It seems that the aggressors used Find My iPhone to locate a lost or stolen iPhone and arrived at the home of the victims who asked them to return the device, they were initially convinced to leave because the terminal was not in that location.

When one of the victims tried to write down the registration number of the car with which the attackers had come, they became aggressive and attacked the victims, who needed medical care at a nearby hospital, the police investigating the whole case.

Three people banged down a family's door on Thanksgiving Day, claiming they'd tracked a lost iPhone to the home and demanded the phone back before attacking the family, police say. The family told the group they didn't have their phone and invited them to call the police. They were finally able to get the suspects out of the home, but when the mother and son tried to take down the license plate number of their car, the suspects attacked them, police said.

A surveillance camera located in front of the door of the victims' house caught the three aggressors and the American police released some images based on which they could be identified by people who are asked to notify the authorities.

Unfortunately, Find My iPhone can turn extremely quickly from a useful service into a big problem, and here it would not be excluded that the replacement of Google Maps with Apple Maps was to blame, if the attackers were not simple thieves .
