Google Photos update was released with a lot of news

Google PhotosGoogle Photos is an application launched by the Google company for the service of the same name, offering us the opportunity to upload any pictures we want for free to the Google servers to access them from wherever and whenever we want afterwards.

application Google Photos was updated during this evening by the Google company, the new version bringing, first of all, the possibility to share our photo or video albums with various friends who use Google services.

More precisely, now we can offer access to photo and video albums to anyone using the Share and Share Album option, people who access our link having the opportunity to add photos to both or to be notified when others are added by others.

Moreover, the Free up space option is now available, about which I spoke to you a few weeks ago, saving the pictures from the terminals in the Google servers and deleting the pictures from the devices to reduce the space consumed, accessing them online.

Introducing shared albums – a new, easy way to pool photos and videos with whoever you want, across any smartphone, tablet, or computer. Just select photos, tap the Share icon, and select Shared Album. People you share the link with can add photos to the album and get notified when new moments are added, no matter what device they're on. There's also a new way to free up space on your device – without losing a photo. Just navigate to Settings and tap “Free up space.” Photos that are safely backed up will be removed from your device's storage, but will still be available in Google Photos.

Separately, Google Photos now offers Chromecast support, so photos and videos can be viewed on TVs without problems, uploading photos to Google servers is up to 4 times faster, there is a zoom in/out function by pinching during the selection of pictures and finally we have the general improvement of the performances.

  • Chromecast support: Cast your photos and videos to your TV, even if they haven't been backed up yet. And don't worry – when you're casting, people will only see the photos you tap on.
  • Improved photo backup: Backing up your photos and videos is more reliable and up to 4x faster.
  • When selecting photos, you can now pinch to zoom in and out.
  • Performance improvements.

The Google Photos application is available for DOWNLOAD FREE, in universal format from the App Store.
