25% of the smartphones launched on the market in 2016 will have Touch 3D or a system similar to the one implemented by the Apple company in its own mobile terminals, those from Cupertino starting a new trend for the IT world.
The estimate comes from the global mobile terminal market analysis agency called IDC, considering that many smartphone manufacturers will take over the idea of Apple to implement screens capable of distinguishing between strong and light touches.
According to IDC, a variety of smartphone manufacturers have already begun testing components that allow the distinction between light and strong touches made by users on screens, they will be available in products launched on the market in 2016.
Samsung Galaxy S7 will have 3D Touch, but those from Samsung will be followed by companies such as HTC, LG or Xiaomi, the Chinese from Huawei already having smartphones with such technology, announcing it before Apple, but remaining only with the announcement made.
Apple's use of Force Touch technology in the Apple Watch and 3D Touch in the iPhone 6S line is leading to growth in force sensing and other touch-panel enhancements in mobile devices. Other brands and IC makers are now responding by preparing their own force sensing solutions, mainly for high-end and mid-range smartphones due to the high cost.
Because the development of such technologies is very expensive, people from Synaptics have created one controller called Clearpad 3700 which offers similar functionality to 3D Touch for Android smartphones, and Apple's competitors will implement this component in terminals.
Due to the very high costs of buying these technologies, only the top Android smartphones will benefit from such functionality during the next year, so we are talking about a very limited number of products that will be available on the market.
In the 25 percent of smartphones that will have this technology, we also include the iPhones that will be available in the largest quantities, and this is because they are the most popular.
