Why does the iPhone turn off in the cold?

iPhone freezesIf you have an iPhone, then there is a possibility that in the last few days you have noticed that it closes itself quite often when you are outside in the cold, even though it had enough battery before deciding that it is better to turn off all its components.

The problem is not a new one, on the contrary, it has existed for years, and many people already know that some iPhone terminals close when they come into contact with the cold, even though we are not talking about extreme temperatures, but about a few degrees below zero.

In my case I can tell you that The iPhone 6S shuts down a few minutes after contact with the cold outside air, refusing to start again for more than a few seconds before shutting down, returning to a temperature greater than zero degrees solving the problem.

I'm not the only one who has had such difficulties in using iPhone terminals in the cold these days, and the problem lies with the devices because The iPhone 6S Plus had no objection to working without problems in the same low temperature to which it was subjected.

Apple considers its iPhone terminals to be capable of operating at temperatures of approximately -20 degrees Celsius, otherwise it would not have sold them in countries such as Norway, for example, and if the device shuts down at higher temperatures, but still below zero degrees, then there is a problem with the device.

In these situations, the only solution is to take the terminal to an authorized Apple service, or to the store where you bought it, and to complain that the iPhone shuts down when it is used outside, in the cold, asking for its replacement, the problem seems to be a manufacturing one.

If you don't want to leave your terminal in service, then you can try to protect it with a case or cover, but there is little chance that it will work without problems when you start using it after taking it out of your pocket.

I can't tell you what is different between iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus since the second one worked without problems in the cold and the first one didn't, but the same thing happens with iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5, etc, so it's not something strictly related to newer models.
