Being much cheaper than a hospital device that can cost up to 25.000 dollars, the scanner Clarius it can be used for a limited set of procedures such as visualization of blockages for nerves or some blood vessels, or guiding injections given to patients.

Physicians have been asking for a portable ultrasound system that works with their iPhone for some time.
