Facebook is currently testing a very complex system that has the role of automatically detect social network accounts that are clones of real others, the owners of the real accounts to be announced by those from Facebook in accordance with their existence.
For example, if a person creates an account that has the same name as yours and has the same profile picture, Facebook will automatically mark it as a clone and notify you about its existence, and it will be suspended or even deleted if you ask for this.
Any account marked as a clone must also be verified by Facebook employees before an action can be taken against it, so in the end important actions are not automatically performed by a software, but require the intervention of Facebook employees.
Facebook started testing this system since November of last year, it is now active in 75% of the entire planet, the American company intends to expand it to other areas in the next period so that everyone can benefit from protection.
The social network is testing a new feature that will automatically alert you if it detects another user is impersonating your account by using your name and profile photo. When Facebook detects that another user may be impersonating you, it will send an alert notifying you about the profile. You'll then be prompted to identify if the profile in question is impersonating you by using your personal information, or if it belongs to someone else who is not impersonating you.
Separately from this system, Facebook is testing another one that allows the reporting of pictures with intimate content that have been published without the consent of the people appearing in the images, after the report those from Facebook analyze the image to decide whether it should be deleted or not.
None of these functions are officially launched, so when they are announced I will come back with details.
